Read MoreThe Seasalt story began in 1981, when Don Chadwick stopped by the General Stores in Penzance to buy a waterproof raincoat. Don went in to buy a jacket but also bought the business. For 20 years, he and his family sold well-crafted quality clothing to the town’s fishermen and artists. The business was inherited by Don’s three sons, David, Leigh and Neil, who grew Seasalt’s story with a contemporary take on creative, coastal style. Seasalt has been committed to sustainability goals from the outset, creating timeless styles in carefully sourced fabrics, with a focus on quality and longevity. Today, the team includes a talented mix of fashion and textile designers, fine artists and illustrators and the hand-drawn prints, evocative colour palettes and artistic heritage give Seasalt its distinctive aesthetic. The collection is sold in over 70 Seasalt shops in the UK and Ireland, from Edinburgh to Penzance, as well as across Europe, North America and further afield, bringing creative, confident dressing, through responsible choices, to people of all ages.
Seasalt identified several key areas to ensure their people received the support they needed and deserved. They noticed that inter-departmental cohesion needed improvement and aimed to help employees understand both themselves and their colleagues better. By fostering an understanding of unique behaviours, Seasalt hoped to enhance communication, resolve conflicts, and support personal development. This initiative aligned with their final focus on optimising team communication, ensuring that teams were working and communicating to their full potential.
C-me was employed to help Seasalt profile their employees. Additionally, several individuals within Seasalt became C-me accredited, enabling them to deliver workshops and training sessions to their staff. Since implementing C-me, Seasalt has successfully avoided restrictive or judgmental language by introducing a common language that everyone can accept. This has led to increased self-awareness and understanding of others, empowering effective conversations, boosting engagement, and maximizing performance. As a result, Seasalt has been able to build more meaningful and impactful working relationships.
